Michael Wolff is nothing if not a little weasel. He hung around, as he said humiliating himself daily by acting like a doormat, the White House during Trump’s first 100 days in office.
Normally these days are full of action and chaos as the new administration takes over the government from the previous one.
Wolff took advantage of this time and wrote a tome full of gossip and half-truths which the media then took and misrepresented and blew out of proportion.
Trump basically ran as a third-party candidate taking the best ideas – keep pre-existing protections, lower taxes – from both sides.
That is why we elected him.
In the White House Trump, unlike Obama and Bush, welcomed an open debate because he wants to hear all sides.
If a good idea comes from Chuck Schumer or Paul Ryan or Steve Bannon or Gary Cohen Trump will champion it – he doesn’t play typical DC games.
The press took this to mean Trump is indecisive when it shows the opposite.
It shows he is a strong leader, confident enough in himself to be free of preconceived notions.
What should be celebrated is mocked but that is the media for you.
Nikki Haley, however, was not having one of the big lies Michael Wolff is trying to sell.
Appearing on Bill Maher’s show, Wolff intimated that Trump was having an affair with…wait for it…Nikki Haley.
Nikki Haley today just set the record straight in an interview with Politico:
“It is absolutely not true…it’s highly offensive and disgusting.”
“I have literally been on Air Force One once and there were several people in the room when I was there. He says that I’ve been talking a lot with the president in the Oval about my political future. I’ve never talked once to the president about my future and I am never alone with him.”
“So the idea that these things come out, that’s a problem. But it goes to a bigger issue that we need to always be conscious of: At every point in my life, I’ve noticed that if you speak your mind and you’re strong about it and you say what you believe, there is a small percentage of people that resent that and the way they deal with it is to try and throw arrows, lies or not.”
