Paul Ryan Out! He can’t take the HEAT so he’s fleeing the kitchen, after lighting it on FIRE.

Make no mistake, Donald J. Trump is “Draining the Swamp”, and that swamp includes not only Democrats, but Establishment (with a capital “E”) Republicans as well.

This morning, Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, told his fellow House Republicans  that he is not going to run for re-election this November.  This comes after two of his fellow Establishment Republicans, Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Bob Corker (R-TN) announced earlier this year that they would not run in November either.

While anti-Trumpers, Corker and Flake, are resigning because they had very little chance of keeping their seats in November, this is not the case with Paul Ryan.

Here is a statement from Brendan Buck, counselor to Speaker Ryan (courtesy of Axios):

“This morning Speaker Ryan shared with his colleagues that this will be his last year as a member of the House. He will serve out his full term, run through the tape, and then retire in January. After nearly twenty years in the House, the speaker is proud of all that has been accomplished and is ready to devote more of his time to being a husband and a father. While he did not seek the position, he told his colleagues that serving as speaker has been the professional honor of his life, and he thanked them for the trust they placed in him. He will discuss his decision at a press conference immediately following the member meeting.”
President Trump was complimentary of Paul Ryan this morning, tweeting the following:

Speaker Paul Ryan is a truly good man, and while he will not be seeking re-election, he will leave a legacy of achievement that nobody can question. We are with you Paul!

My opinion is that when you get right down to it, Paul Ryan has never had President Trump’s back.  Look at the Omnibus bill.  Ryan has never done a thing to help President Trump get the border wall we need.

With the outlook for Republicans keeping the House in November looking poor, Ryan is abandoning his duties to the president and the American people in favor of his future political ambitions.

Hopefully Steve Scalise will take over as Speaker, another Republican will win his seat in November, and President Trump will have one less swamp creature to deal with after November.
