Ron DeSantis Brings Down House At CPAC: ‘We Will Not Go Back To Days Of Failed Republican Establishment”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dropped the hammer CPAC Friday morning telling the conservatives gathered that the GOP cannot go back to the “days of the failed Republican establishment.”

“Florida is protecting our people from political censorship and holding Big Tech accountable. We will pass the most ambitious reforms ever proposed for combating political censorship and de-platforming,” said DeSantis.

“In Florida, we are not going to let the terms of the debate be set by oligarchs in Silicon Valley. We’re leading on the issues that matter to conservatives.”

“We don’t spout hollow rhetoric, we take action. We cannot, we will not go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment,” he said.

“The question is: When the klieg lights get hot, when the Left comes after you, will you stay strong or will you fold?” he asked the crowd.

DeSantis also took a well-deserved victory lap over how he handled COVID.

“Florida got it right, and the lockdown states got it wrong,” DeSantis said to open his CPAC speech, the first of Friday’s session.

“I have a policy: I only travel to free states!” He said as the crowd laughed.

“The oppressive yoke of lockdowns. While so many Governors locked people down, Florida lifted people up.”

“Not one red cent of our rainy day funds. Florida got it right, and the lockdown states got it wrong.”

“Rush was one of the first to fight and win against Cancel Culture,” DeSantis said

“One of the things Rush taught us is that standing for the right things comes at a cost. You will be attacked, you will be smeared, you may even be canceled by those on the political Left.”

“Hold the line. Stand your ground. and don’t ever, ever back down.”
