Throughout 2015 and 2016, during the presidential campaign, President Trump repeatedly called the Iran nuclear Deal the “worst deal in history.” Despite many attempts by France and Germany to change the president’s mind, he has not.
At 2 pm today, President Trump will officially withdraw the United States of America from the Iran deal. The New York Times reports that the President has already informed France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, that the U.S. will withdraw, earlier today.
The New York Times reports:
The United States is preparing to reinstate all sanctions it had waived as part of the nuclear accord — and impose additional economic penalties as well, the person said.
Senior administration officials also have begun informing congressional leaders of the president’s intent to withdraw, according to a third person familiar with the discussions.
Mr. Trump is planning to formally announce his decision at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the White House. A spokesman at the Élysée Palace in Paris denied that President Macron had been told what Mr. Trump was going to do.
President Trump is fulfilling yet another of his campaign promises. Please let us know what YOU think about this and SHARE with all your “TRUMP” friends. Thank you!
